About Web Services

Web Services is responsible for analysis, design, development, implementation, maintenance and evaluation of the libraries' website, user interfaces and integrated web applications. This includes the main library site and the Archives and Special Collections website, as well as user interface customizations and integrations of library products such as CONTENTdm, ILLiad and LibGuides, and we are the libraries' liaison to Google. We also promote open source and open access technologies whenever possible including Drupal, MIT Simile Exhibit, Wordpress, Libstats, Archivist's Tool Kit and of course, the LAMP stack.  We work closely with all departments in the libraries to find creative ways to meet user needs by integrating instructional design theory and pedagogy into our web, data and tutorial applications.
